CyTA plans to increase its monthly rental fees from CYP 6.95 per line to CYP 8.50 as of October 2008, which may see another dramatic decline in the number of subscribers or lines as was the case during the last increase in June 2005 to CYP 6.95 from CYP 5.00 monthly rental previously.

CyTA will also hike the connection fees for analogue lines from CYP 37 (in effect since 2005) to CYP 52 while ISDN connection fees are set to rise to CYP 94 from CYP 60 and the monthly rental to CYP 15.50 from CYP 13.40 now.

Meanwhile Politis reported that CyTA will be obliged to cut its fees for use of the network by 38%. Residential call rates are now 1.04 cent per minute and from October on such rates will cost CYP 0.64/minute. Internet dial up costs will also be reduced from 2.8 cent/2minute to 0.54 cent/minute.
