Cyprus and Spain sign agreement on security matters

Cyprus and Spain signed on Wednesday an agreement with a view to facilitate the Spanish government`s actions aiming at the management of crises in the Middle East, enhancing in this way the cooperation of the two countries in security issues.

According to an official press release, the agreement constitutes a tangible proof of Cyprus’ role as a factor of stability in the region.
A similar agreement was signed on April 4 with Canada.

It is finally added that the Spanish delegation paid a courtesy visit to Cyprus Defence Minister Photis Photiou, and discussed with him issues of general interest as well as matters within the Ministries of the two countries competency.
