CYPRUS: First Nicosia casino opens its doors

Cyprus Casinos Nicosia (C2 Nicosia) has opened its doors to the public. It is the first authorized casino to open in the capital and the first satellite to launch following the temporary casino opening in Limassol in June.


Craig Ballantyne, Property President of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos, said he was pleased to see the new addition to the C2 portfolio.

 “C2 will significantly contribute to the efforts of the Cypriot government to combat illegal gaming.”

He said “100 people have been employed at the location in Nicosia, bringing the total number of Melco staff in Cyprus to over 700 individuals, the vast majority being Cypriot citizens.”

C2 Nicosia is located on Neas Engomis Street No35, with a total area of 970 m2 and features five live tables and 50 slot machines.

It is also home to another Columbia Bistro restaurant and bar. It boasts a similar interior design and identity as C2 Limassol, offering the same high-quality experience and service visitors to the temporary  Limassol casino enjoy.

The Nicosia casino is open Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. until 6 a.m. and 24-hours on weekends, public holidays and holiday seasons.

There is no membership required by visitors must be aged over 21.

The next Cyprus Casinos Larnaca (“C2 Larnaca”), the second satellite casino, is also scheduled to open at Larnaca International Airport later in December.

Cyprus Casinos is the first in the Republic licensed to the the Melco Group that is building City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol – Europe’s biggest integrated casino resort.

Additional satellite casinos are also scheduled to open in Paphos and Ayia Napa.
