TRAVEL: Cyprus airports operator ‘Best International Airport Management Company in the Mediterranean’

Hermes Airports was awarded the "Best International Airport Management Company 2019 in the Mediterranean" at the Air Transport Awards by the UK's International Transport News magazine.


The ‘Air Transport Awards’ recognises those companies and individuals who are soaring above the industry’s competition, by contributing to the wellbeing and advancement of their wider industry and country.

The awards also acknowledge the dedication, innovation and achievements of the industry’s stakeholders, highlighting the best among them.

Eleni Kaloyirou, Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Airports, said that the award, will be added to a series of awards that highlight Hermes' consistency in excellence and innovation, which makes the two airports of Cyprus stand out in the wider region.

"We continue to work with the same commitment to upgrade the services we offer to passengers and companies, thereby contributing to the global promotion of the tourism product of Cyprus," she said.

Hermes Airports manages and controls the two International Airports at Larnaca and Paphos where around 11 million passengers travel through every year.

It is estimated that for every additional flight arriving at Cypriot airports, around 100 additional job positions are created.

Both airports make an annual contribution to the country’s finances that exceeds €450 mln – corresponding to around 4% of Cyprus’ GDP.
