President Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia will be in Cyprus on a one-day official visit next Monday and will head the biggest delegation ever to visit the island, accompanied by cabinet ministers and about 30 business people.
Invited by president Dimitris Christofias when he visited Yerevan last July, the two leaders are expected to review the current level of Cyprus-Armenia relations and prospects of their further development, as well as regional issues.
Sargsyan and Christofias agreed last year to intensify a political dialogue and economic relations and also stressed the need to expand the legal framework between the two countries.
Serzh Sargsyan who had previously visited Cyprus as Defence Minister of Armenia, will also meet the President of the House of Representative, Marios Garoyian and will address an extraordinary session of parliament in the afternoon, after which he will call on Archbishop Chrysostomos II and will pay a visit to the Armenian Prelature in Nicosia and the Armenian elementary school Nareg.
The business delegation, that includes CEOs and senior executives of large producers of beverages, IT and services providers and other NGOs, will be hosted by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the KEVE Building for trade meetings.
