CYPRUS: President to address European Parliament in Strasbourg

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on 12 December will address the European Parliament Plenary session on the “Future of Europe”.


President Anastasiades will also hold a meeting with the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani at the European Parliament, and later on, in the presence of the President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker, he will address the Plenary.

The President will then take questions by Euro MPs.

Later, President Tajani, in the presence of the President of the Republic, will award the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov with the Sakharov Prize.

Following the award ceremony, President Tajani will host a luncheon in honour of President Anastasiades.

He will be accompanied in Strasbourg by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides, government spokesman, Prodromos Prodromou and the Deputy Minister to the President, Vasilis Palmas.

The President will then leave Strasbourg for Brussels where he will participate in the EU Summit.
