DEFENCE: French military flights over Cyprus during exercise

The Cyprus Ministry of Defence has announced that due to a French aeronautical exercise across the island there will be Rafale fighter jets flying over Paphos and Polis Chryochous.

In a statement Tuesday, the Ministry said that in the context of a French military exercise there will be helicopter and aircraft flights within the Nicosia FIR, in the areas of Paphos and Polis Chrysochous in the Paphos District.

The French air force has conducted flights within Nicosia FIR since last week. The French navy and air force manoeuvres began last week and will continue until Wednesday as part of enhanced Cyprus-France military cooperation.
