Regional seminar on aviation safety to be held in Cyprus

A regional seminar on aviation safety will be held in Cyprus this month, organized by the Communications and Works Ministry in cooperation with EUROCONTROL.
The Regional Aviation Safety Seminar entitled “Aviation safety: existing policies and the need for regional cooperation – A Regional Seminar for the Middle-East, North African and Gulf Regions” is being held by the Department of Civil Aviation of Cyprus in Nicosia from 16-17 November, in cooperation with EMAC (European-Middle East ATM Coordination) and with the support of EUROCONTROL (the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation), ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization), EC (the European Commission) and other international organizations which deal with civil aviation issues.
Communications and Works Minister Haris Thrasou will address the seminar, where more than 140 representatives from 14 Mediterranean countries and the Middle East will participate.
The objective of the Seminar is to bring together representatives from the civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airports authorities, airline companies, controllers’ and pilots’ associations of the Middle-East, North African and Gulf Regions to exchange views on the existing policies regarding all aspects of aviation safety and the need for regional cooperation.
